Pullman Regional Hospital’s BirthPlace is ranked in the top 1 percent

Pullman Regional Hospital’s BirthPlace is ranked in the top 1 percent out of 685 hospitals nationwide for customer satisfaction. This is according to results from Press Ganey, an independent national healthcare surveyor, for the third quarter period from May 1 to July 31, 2006.

The hospital overall ranked in the top 6 percent out of 1,477 hospitals nationwide. This puts Pullman Regional Hospital in a class with hospitals like Johns Hopkins and Massachusetts General, which also were included in the survey. Johns Hopkins recently was ranked the number one hospital in the United States by U.S. News and World Report.

“Many factors go into overall patient satisfaction at a hospital,” said Megan Guido, director of Community Relations. “These include quality of care and medical staff to pleasantness of room décor and food.”

Pullman Regional Hospital ranked in the top 4 percent nationally in overall satisfaction with room and top 3 percent in overall satisfaction with meals. It also ranks high in satisfaction with nurses and physicians.

“The quality of our medical staff plays a key role in achieving high patient satisfaction and we value this partnership,” said Guido.

“We are committed to sharing these quarterly survey results with staff and to using them to measure and continuously improve our service and care to our patients and the community,” Guido said.
