What
You’ll Need to Bring
To
add to the cozy, home-like atmosphere you want, we encourage you
to bring any items that will make your stay more comfortable.
The following are a few suggestions:
- Personal
Items: Your favorite pillow, shampoo, soap, cosmetics, curling
iron, blow dryer, toothpaste and toothbrush.
- Baby Clothes: An outfit for babys first picture and clothes for the baby
to wear home along with a baby blanket.
- Extra
Clothes: Include a bathrobe and slippers, or your favorite
nightgown.
Caring
For Your Baby
Those
first few hours with your newborn are a precious time. We want you
to have as much quality time with your new baby as you would like,
as well as plenty of time to rest. Your baby can be in your room
as much as you desire, or in the loving arms of our nursing staff.
Breastfeeding
BirthPlace
provides the support you need to make breastfeeding a joyous and
rewarding experience. Our nurses provide personal counseling and
instruction while you are in the hospital, and our certified lactation
consultant provides follow-up counseling after you and your baby
go home.
A free individual
consultation can be scheduled at our BirthPlace Consultation Office
by calling 509-336-7636, or by calling the BirthPlace at
509-336-7401 for urgent problems.
