Pullman Regional Hospital Improving Respiratory Distress Conditions through Technology and Education

Funds to Focus on Respiratory Distress Monitoring Improvements

Boston, MA- (December 17, 2015) - Pullman Regional Hospital of Pullman, Washington will be using a $10,000 grant from the Coverys Community Healthcare Foundation to improve respiratory distress monitoring.

The grant from Coverys, a leading provider of medical professional liability insurance and related services, will fund patient monitoring resources for high-risk patients with life-threatening respiratory distress conditions. The grant will also fund educational tools for staff at Pullman Regional Hospital.

“Funding will allow us to expand our use of this progressive technology for more patients.” said Jeannie Eylar, Chief Clinical Officer for Pullman Regional Hospital. “The staff training, education and non-invasive monitoring of patients to identify patient concerns before they become life-threatening conditions will lessen risks and improve patient safety.”

“Coverys’ generosity and commitment to supporting research and patient safety allows Pullman Regional Hospital to provide better education, improved monitoring, and ultimately better patient care,” said Scott Adams, CEO for Pullman Regional Hospital.

“Improved patient safety has always been part of the Coverys mission and we believe that we are executing on this mission by supporting patient safety programs,” said Tara Gibson, vice president of risk management for Coverys. “Coverys recognizes this dedicated and forward-thinking hospital by funding grants to help get their initiatives off the ground. I’m extremely proud that Coverys has been and continues to be an avid supporter of these programs.”

The grant is part of a larger campaign from Coverys, which donated more than $140,000 to health facilities in the Pacific Northwest.
