2015 Dance-A-Thon Event Details
WSU students are STANDING UP for women and children in need!
February 28, 2015 | noon to midnight | Ensminger Pavilion, Washington State University Campus
The second annual Washington State University dance-A-thon will be an energizing philanthropic experience that culminates in a 12-hour day of dancing, sharing and inspiration. Dance-A-thon gives students the chance to improve the lives of women and children in our community. Proceeds benefit Pullman Regional Hospital’s Center for Women’s and Children’s Health.
The goal of this event is to not only raise money in support of the hospital, but also to engage 400-500 Washington State University students to learn leadership, philanthropy, and to see what united efforts can accomplish in support of a cause. Washington State University student leaders are working to make this event a success. It is the vision for dance-A-thon that it will become an annual event bringing in full community participation.
When & Where:

As second annual event, the goal is to raise $30,000 in support of Pullman Regional Hospital. Our motto, "Standing Up for Women and Children," represents our commitment to fund capital items for the betterment of care in the community benefitting women and children. This year, the highest needs for women and children have been identified as follows:
- BIRTHPLACE LABOR BED ($20,000): More than 400 babies are brought into this world at Pullman Regional Hospital’s BirthPlace each year. Past fundraising efforts supported the replacement of outdated patient beds used in the BirthPlace for laboring mothers. This new model provides comfort and security for both the mother and the caregiver.
- NEONATAL CRIB FOR HIGH-RISK INFANTS ($5,500): A specially designed crib provides the ideal environment in the nursery for advanced treatment and newborn therapy outside of the cozy, intimate BirthPlace patient suites.
- BIRTHPLACE LABOR MONITORS ($13,200): A wireless monitoring system keeps watchful track of a soon-to-be-born baby, as mother and providers near delivery. The portable monitor gives patients the comfort and freedom to get out of bed and walk around.
