Champions for Kids--Autograph Signing Session

How to Help Event
Date
Sep 2, 2017
Time
2:00PM - 4:00PM

Pullman Regional Hospital Foundation has teamed up with famous sports champions to provide an exclusive autograph session and silent auction at Zeppoz in Pullman on September 2, 2017.

Champions for Kids Autograph Session—presented and hosted by Zeppoz—provides sports fans a chance to meet Drew Bledsoe, Jason Gesser, Connor Halliday, Rueben Mayes, Mark Rypien, Mack Strong, and Jack Thompson.

$75 ticket for the Champion Experience includes an autograph from each champion; a $150 pre-event VIP ticket provides one-on-one time with each champion in addition to an autograph. The silent auction will showcase more than 30 autographed photos and sports memorabilia, and cards and mini helmets will be available for purchase.

All event proceeds support a new program under the hospital's Orthopaedic Center of Excellence to provide local high school students of Colton, WA; Garfield-Palouse, WA; Potlatch, ID; and Pullman, WA full-service athletic training services.

The event was inspired by hospital commissioner, Jeff Elbracht.  “We’re excited to host an event which benefits our student athletes and grateful these champions are volunteering their time to support the kids,” said Elbracht.

Melanie's Story

Melanie Hodges is a firecracker in a small package. As the owner and “CEO” of Lily Bee’s Fine Boutique and Consignments in downtown Pullman, her love for selling quality clothing, formal dresses and vintage items on consignment is apparent. She will soon be celebrating Lily Bee’s 10 year anniversary in business. With her naturally bubbly personality, she makes friends quickly, so it’s no surprise that after a recent stay at Pullman Regional Hospital, Melanie found herself making new friends.

“The nurses were so nice,” she said. “When I left (the hospital), I felt like I had new friends.”

She compares Pullman Regional Hospital to a large hospital in Vail, Colorado where her daughter is Director of Nursing. “Our nurses are just as good as theirs,” she says with a smile and a laugh. “We have an A-1 hospital.”

“Nurses really are the healers,” she said. “If I ever need to go back for something, it will be to Pullman Regional Hospital. I felt like I had been taken care of so well.”
