Pullman Regional Hospital Foundation’s “Elegant Affair,” the 12th Annual Gala (Presented by Avista), drew a gathering of 320 hospital supporters to the SEL Event Center on February 3 for the public fundraising kickoff for the hospital’s 2018 highest needs.
The announcement of the hospital’s 2018 priorities by hospital CEO, Scott Adams, revealed the hospital’s commitment to supporting cardiology services on the Palouse. A preliminary goal of $1 million will help fund cardiology equipment and support new cardiology services.
“There is a pressing need for the hospital to ensure our community has the best possible cardiology care so we can limit travel for our patients and provide an even broader range of services, right here at home,” said Pullman Regional Hospital CEO, Scott Adams.
With the Gala program half over, Adams announced a profoundly generous gift of $250,000 by Ed and Beatriz Schweitzer on top of their $250,000 gift to the Ed and Beatriz Schweitzer Founding Benefactor Fund for Cardiology in honor of Dr. Dennis Simpson’s 35 years of outstanding service.
“We are so happy to be a part of honoring Dr. Dennis Simpson for his wonderful contributions in healthcare and ensuring our community has access to quality cardiology services,” said the Schweitzers.
“The leadership and generosity from the Schweitzer family continues to forge a path in this community. The impact on our hospital and the services we provide is significant. We are so grateful for their continued support,” said Adams.
The Schweitzer’s leadership gift and the generosity of the community through event registrations, sponsorships, auction and raffle proceeds brought in more than $625,000 to support cardiology services on the Palouse.
