Pullman Regional Hospital receives 2017 Women’s Choice Award for Obstetrics

Jan 25, 2017

Pullman Regional Hospital has been named one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics in 2017 by the Women’s Choice Award®. This is the third time BirthPlace has received the award which signifies that Pullman Regional Hospital is in the top 17 percent of 2,815 U.S. hospitals offering obstetrics based upon patient satisfaction scores, women’s preferences, and clinical excellence.

The methodology for America’s Best Hospital for Obstetrics Award is unique in that it combines national accreditations, Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey results and hospital outcome scores with primary research about women’s healthcare preferences.

New commissioner appointed to Pullman Regional Hospital Board

Jan 24, 2017

Margaret Werre, retired operating room nurse, has been appointed to the Pullman Regional Hospital Board of Commissioners. She replaces Joy Drake, who left her position to relocate to Spokane, in October 2016.

Werre moved to Pullman in 2013 to be with her daughter and son-in-law. She recently came from Centralia where she worked as an OR nurse since 1989. Previous to that she worked as a nurse in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

“I see myself as being new to this area and bringing a different perspective since I’ve worked in larger hospitals,” she said.

Werre said she is looking forward to the hospital’s plans to expand surgical capabilities with the addition of a fourth operating room in July and planned expansion of Same Day Services.

“I love being in healthcare and I love living in a small community,” she said. “I will work to continue to make Pullman a place where people want to live and can count on quality healthcare.”
