Pullman Regional Hospital's Next CEO

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the activities of Pullman Regional Hospital, our network of nine clinics, our partnership with Palouse Specialty Physicians, and the Pullman Regional Hospital Foundation. The position provides strategic leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective healthcare consistent with our Mission, Vision and Values. The CEO works collaboratively with the administrative team with input from physicians, clinical and support staff and community stakeholders and reports to the Pullman Regional Hospital Board of Commissioners.

Scott Adams

Scott Adams, MPA

Current CEO

Scott Adams is the current CEO of Pullman Regional Hospital, a 5 star, award-winning critical access hospital, located in eastern Washington. With an unheard of 29-year tenure in at the hospital, Adams led Pullman Regional Hospital through transformational change and unprecedented growth while maintaining a strong culture built on personal accountability and trust. He is widely recognized for his progressive leadership style and creative and collaborative response to meeting the healthcare needs of the region. He received the Joe Hopkins Memorial Award for Outstanding Leadership by the Washington State Hospital Association in 2014 and was named Outstanding Healthcare Executive by the Seattle Business magazine. Highlights of his leadership work include building a new, state-of-the-art hospital in Pullman in 2004, collaborating with physician practices and area hospitals to ensure access to providers in a rural community, and developing Community Health 2020, a long term strategy to build and sustain an inclusive model of healthcare for the community.


Bernadette Berney, MSML

Chief Human Resources Officer

Bernadette has been a member the Pullman Regional Hospital Human Resources department for over 37 years. Her current role as Chief Human Resources Officer includes benefits administration, performance management, leadership development, and employee on-boarding.


Carrie Coen, DPT

Chief Reliability Officer

Carrie has been with Pullman Regional Hospital since 2008. Her previous role with the organization was the Director of Rehabilitation Services at Summit Therapy and Health Services, where she oversaw physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, athletic training, and genetic counseling services. She holds a BS and DPT in Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Carrie is also a member of the Health Student Professionals Advisory Board at Washington State University and a Senior Consultant for Speech Sounds Visualized. 

Jeannie Eylar

Jeannie Eylar, MSN

Chief Nursing Officer

Jeannie has been the Chief Clinical and Patient Safety Officer at Pullman Regional Hospital since 1993.  She graduated from Washington State University in 1981 with her BSN and in 2009 with her MSN.  She has served as a commissioner on the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission since 2013.  Her role on the commission has been a learning and stimulating experience in the world of regulation and policy development.  She has served on multiple healthcare committees in the state and is a member of the NW Organization of Nurse Leaders.


Steve Febus, MBA

Chief Financial Officer

Steve has more than 25 years of financial management experience in an acute healthcare setting. He champions our organization's financial effectiveness while remaining culturally aligned. This includes a close working relationship with the entire leadership team to train, educated, coach, and formulate data driven results. 


Stephen Hall, MD

Chief Medical Officer, Family Medicine & OB Provider

Dr. Hall has been providing family medicine and obstetrical care for over 13 years at Palouse Medical. He is also the Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program- Pullman through Washington State University. In his Chief Medical Officer role, Dr. Hall acts as a departmental advisor to Pullman Regional Hospital's BirthPlace, Genetic Counseling, Nutrition, Clinical Informatics, and Pharmacy departments. 

Rueben Mayes

Rueben Mayes, MBA

Chief Development and External Relations Officer

Rueben oversees fundraising, external relations, volunteer services and Diane’s Gift Garden working closely with department medical directors, physicians, hospital executive staff, foundation boards and committees to grow system-wide philanthropic/investment support for key priorities. He has been with Pullman Regional Hospital over 8 years and 27 years in fundraising and external relations leadership roles. Rueben has Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credentials.

Pete Mikkelson-01-1-1

Pete Mikkelsen, MD

Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director of Emergency Services

 Dr. Mikkelsen has been with Pullman Regional Hospital's Emergency Department since 2011, first as an Emergency Physician and now as Medical Director. He is a Certified Physician Executive, Healthcare Leadership through the American Association for Physician Leadership. In his Chief Medical Officer role, Dr. Mikkelsen acts as a departmental advisor to Pullman Regional Hospital's MUS/ICU, Laboratory, Respiratory Services/Sleep, Emergency, and Care Coordination departments. 

Karly Port Clinic Network

Karly Port, MBA

Chief Clinic Network Officer

Karly has direct oversight over Pullman Regional Hospital's Clinic Network, which includes all clinic practices which the hospital owns and manages. She works closely with physicians, leadership and staff to ensure community healthcare needs continue to be met with quality, passionate and dedicated service. She is experienced in developing comprehensive strategies, optimizing team performance, and deploying key initiatives to effectively drive ongoing business performance. Karly has been with Pullman Regional Hospital for over 10 years.

Edwin Tingstad, MD

Chief Medical Officer, Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Tingstad is a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon at Inland Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Clinic, a part of the Pullman Regional Hospital Orthopedic Center of Excellence. He is also a team physician for Washington State University Athletics. In his Chief Medical Officer role, Dr. Tingstad acts as a departmental advisor to Pullman Regional Hospital's Surgery, Anesthesia, Imaging, SDS/PACU, and Rehabilitation Services departments.
