ENDOCRINOLOGY

Pullman Regional Endocrinology provides specialty care for hormonal and metabolic condition, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, bone and calcium conditions, and other hormone-related concerns. We work closely with your primary care provider, so you get the right care, from the right member of your care team, at the right time.

Pullman Regional Endocrinology is conveniently located on the upper level of Pullman Regional Hospital in Suite 201 with Palouse Heart Center and Palouse Sleep Medicine. Suite 201 is near Palouse Urology Center (Suite 101) and Palouse Medical (Suite 200). Appointments are available for patients aged 18 and older and are by referral only.

Endocrinologist Rahul Purbey, M.D. (pronounced RAH-hool POOR-bay) is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and Endocrine Society with five years of practical clinical experience.

Dr. Purbey’s philosophy of care emerged from his passion for teaching and providing patient-centered, evidence-based care through shared decision-making. He enjoys endocrinology because these disorders are usually complex and lifelong, giving him the opportunity to form long-lasting relationships with his patient to focus on long-term health and quality of life. He wants to make sure all of his patients’ concerns are addressed, and that if they have any questions, they are always welcome to ask.

Originally from India, Dr. Purbey’s curiosity about endocrinology began at a young age as he witnessed multiple family members manage their diabetes. His clinical background spans international and U.S. medical training, where he was consistently recognized for his leadership in teaching and research. Beyond academics, Dr. Purbey has aided in disaster-relief efforts, community health initiatives, and educational outreach to underserved populations.

Dr. Purbey was an endocrinology fellow at the University of Kentucky. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Mercy Hospital in Arkansas, where he received the Leadership in Education Award and contributed to the hospital's Glucose Control Committee. His scholarly work includes multiple publications and national presentations focused on diabetes, endocrinology, and internal medicine. His professional interests include diabetes management, osteoporosis, thyroid conditions, and advancing evidence-based endocrine care.

In his free time, Dr. Purbey enjoys traveling, hiking, trying new cuisines, and watching movies (his favorite genres are science fiction, historical, and superhero movies). He was drawn to Pullman by its close-knit community and the opportunity to grow professionally and personally.
