The Pullman Regional Hospital Healthcare Leadership Intern Program offers students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of a hospital setting. Interns will work alongside department leaders and staff across a variety of areas—including Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and Education—to develop a deeper understanding of healthcare management and leadership.

Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the Healthcare Leadership Intern Program, applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a college or university program (undergraduate or graduate level)

  • Demonstrate an interest in healthcare administration, management, or related fields

  • Commit to completing all required internship hours during the semester

  • Submit a completed application and any requested documentation by the stated deadline

Program Schedule & Application Timeline

This 16-week unpaid, credit-based internship is designed for college students seeking practical experience in the administrative side of healthcare through immersion in four essential non-clinical hospital departments: Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and Education. The program provides students with structured exposure to hospital operations while helping them connect classroom learning to real-world healthcare administration. This opportunity is offered in both the Fall & Spring semesters.

  • Fall Internship: Application opens May 1 – closes July 15

  • Spring Internship: Application opens August 24 – closes November 1

Students rotate through each department in four-week blocks, participating in departmental meetings, observing workflows, assisting with projects, and engaging with hospital professionals. Throughout the semester, interns gain an understanding of how non-clinical teams support patient care, employee engagement, organizational growth, and community impact.

Each internship includes approximately 150 hours ( 10 hours a week, 15 weeks a semester), and is coordinated through Pullman Regional Hospital’s Volunteer Services department.
