The BEAR Implant is used for treatment of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears. This focuses on healing the torn ligament, as opposed to replacing it with a traditional graft. This means there's only one surgical wound site.

The BEAR Implant acts as a bridge between the torn ACL ends to help them heal back together. This procedure involves your surgeon injecting a small amount of your own blood into the implant and inserting it between the torn ends of the ACL in a minimally-invasive procedure. This process enables your body to heal the torn ends of the ACL back together, while maintaining the ACL's original attachments to the femur and tibia. As the ACL heals, the BEAR Implant is resorbed by the body, usually within eight weeks.

This procedure is available to patients over 14 years of age and must be completed within 50 days of injury.

I had two trigger finger injections with Dr. Shaw and was most impressed. He used ultrasound technology to pinpoint injection sites, which made the experience less painful than any previous I've had!

Rod Schwartz

I highly recommend Dr. Shaw! He administered 2 hip injections to me- helping me regain the ability to maneuver around without pain. Dr. Shaw took lots of time with me explaining, answering my questions, and communicating what he was going to do.

Margie Louise Kimball

We were in Pullman for baseball tournament when my son tweaked his knee. Dr. Tingstad was kind enough to see him and give a very thorough exam. He evaluated and explained what happened.

Jeff Kernan

Surgery was a success! A very special THANK YOU to Dr. Tingstad and his wonderful team from the anesthesiologist, nurses, CNA’s and registration desk workers!

Shelly Rankin

Dr. Shaw was really easy to work with and pleasant to talk to. He's knowledgeable and humorous and took great care not to cause me any additional pain when examining my knee.
